A Living, Daring, Confidence: Martin Luther & the Rediscovery of the Gospel

In honor of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, we are doing a sermon series that highlights major themes of Martin Luther’s theology found in the book of Romans.  It was while reading and teaching Paul’s letter that Luther rediscovered the Gospel and what it means for daring and confident Christian living.  This series dovetails nicely with Our Summer of Romans series that we just concluded, but has a slightly different emphasis.  The next four weeks will highlight passages from Romans that we did not cover during our series this summer.  We will also highlight Luther’s life and his quotes which specifically relate to our selected texts.  The series starts October 1 and concludes October 22.

October 1  Faith Alone…And Your Right with God  – Romans 1:16-17

October 8 The Law Gives A Grade…The Gospel Gives Grace – Romans 3:19-26

October 15 The Love Your Neighbor “Thing” – Romans 13:8-10

October 22  So Many Encouraging Words – Romans 15:4-6

On Reformation Sunday, October 29, we will have a dramatic presentation  about  Luther and the Reformation.
