The Eisold’s are in Lima, Peru where Mark has been called by the LCMS to be a missionary to start numerous churches.

Mark and Sandi met through our campus ministry at First Lutheran Church in Gainesville. Mark graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., in 2003. The Eisolds have two children, Annalise and Erik. Mark’s hobbies include biking, swimming, fishing, target shooting, and gardening, while Sandi enjoys playing games, camping, reading, photography, swimming, and running.

Please pray for the Eisold family as they serve in Peru. They write, “We know that many people in Peru are far from saving faith in Jesus.  There are many spiritual obstacles to overcome. Pray for Jesus to make clear paths for our team in Peru. Pray that He would open eyes and ears so that they may hear the Gospel of free forgiveness and new life in Jesus Christ, so that they may know the Lord for who He is.”

First Lutheran has been actively engaged in ministry in Nicaragua since 2002 with a special emphasis on the poor in Santa Patricia, a barrio on the outskirts of Chinandega.  We have built to date 24 homes for families there living in rough and tumble shacks and have sponsored dozens of children so that they can receive a basic education.  Sponsors receive regular correspondence with families, growing in relationships with the people.  Each year there are two mission trips to Santa Patricia and other areas. You can learn more about this ministry by clicking on the title above which will take you to the B.A.S.I.C. Facebook page.

First Lutheran members are very active in this community among many service projects from Habitat for Humanity to Gainesville Community Ministries.  Quarterly we hold vision clinics for the poor at Gainesville community ministries and always are looking for volunteers to help with those Saturdays.  We also run quarterly food drives for GCM.

Our Campus Ministry students have traveled to numerous locations over the years, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those in other cultures and places.  This past spring, we had groups in inner city Chicago and Zacapa, Guatemala.  The three areas we have concentrated upon over the last few years are Panama, Guatemala and Chicago.  We believe returning to the same places builds relationships and increases effectiveness in ministry.  You can learn more by clicking on the title above which will take you to the Lutheran student Fellowship site.
